July 28, 2015

As I previously stated in my last blog, I will be blogging about random things that happen to me. Every year since I turned 19, for some odd reason I always cry on my birthday. The whole concept of aging and getting older scares me. On July 11, I turned 26, and I was ready for hurricane Katrina to come out of my eyes. I was no longer in my early 20's, or mid 20's I have now made it into my late 20's. I woke up and didn't cry the whole day, not going to lie I was quite impressed with myself lol.

At the time I didn't know my friends were planning a surprise birthday for me so I was just really down to do whatever I didn't really care. My best friend Melissa, calls me and says, "would you like to go sit at one of our favourite places in downtown to waste some time before you can break your fast?" I was like yes, that actually sounds like a great plan. We pull into the parking lot, and I quickly realized we parked by a Muslim guy as he had a masbha hanging from his review mirror. Before I could even check whether or not he was cute (I know it was Ramadan) Melissa asks me if she parked within the lines of her parking spot. Since my window was already opened, I thought why not just look out the window and check for her. Again I want to remind you that this potential future husband is literally a couple feet away from me, and had his window opened. Anyways, so I peek my head out of the window to check for my dear friend when all of a sudden, she rolls up my window thinking she's rolling her own window up. She chokes me. I start making weird noises because I can't breath while the young man to the right of me is watching this all unfold.

I scream Melissa roll down the window, but at this point she's laughing so hard that tears are coming out of her eyes. Finally the window comes down and at this point I am humiliated but I can't stop laughing. We get our act together we walk out of the car, and I am still checking whether or not if she's parked within the lines, when I realize there are no lines. My face went from pale to red real quick but I still thought it was the funniest thing ever.

At the end of the day I still have no clue how this guy looked like because I didn't have a chance to look since I almost died. But I think it is a solid lesson learnt, and that is to lower your gaze haha.

Thank you for reading my blog, have you ever had an embarrassing moment? xox
