Farewell Amsterdam, Rotterdam, and The Hague
The Netherlands journey of my honeymoon is coming to an end and we are off to our next destination...can you guess where?
We spent the majority of our trip in Amsterdam, it was full of history, art, museums, people, and marijuana haha. One thing that I loved about Amsterdam is the aesthetics of the city. Picture Pinterest, now times that by 10 and you have Amsterdam. It was amazing. Everything is pretty minimalistic, that includes clothing and lifestyle, which was cool to witness.
After about 6 days in Amsterdam, we headed to Rotterdam which is about 45 minutes to an hour away. This is completely different than Amsterdam. It was a lot more calm and had a lot less traffic. It was rebuilt because of the war so everything is quite modern where as Amsterdam it still has that old European, romantic feel to it. Rotterdam has more of a hipster, subculture vibe to it, if you have a day to check it out you can but if not you aren't really missing much.
We then headed to The Hague, which is about 35 minutes away from Rotterdam, to go to the Louwman Museum. The Louwman Museum is strictly about cars, my husband is a huge car guy. This city was actually my favourite. It had the old European look, it was calm but yet busy, and it had an amazing beach surrounded by restaurants and shops. It was like Amsterdam on a smaller scale. If you have time I would recommend this little gem.
Food wise, they love their fries, mayo, ice-cream, and waffles lol and so did I.
